There are many ways to reach us –

but they all have one thing in common:
they end where arriving feels easy.

Arriving by road and rail

There are many ways to find us in the Drau Valley, and each one tells its own story. Those arriving from the north or west first cross the main Alpine ridge. Whether by car via the A10, along the scenic Felbertauern route, or at a gentler pace by train and Tauern car shuttle: the destination comes closer with every kilometre. From the east, the new Koralm Railway brings Vienna and Graz much closer to Carinthia, with onward connections towards Spittal-Millstättersee. It is a way of travelling that gradually follows the rhythm of the landscape – with wide views of the mountains, until the valley opens and the sun stands above the hills.

On two wheels through the valley

For active travellers, our house lies at a special junction. The Drau Cycle Path R1 and the Ciclovia Alpe Adria pass right by our garden gate. Cyclists often arrive in the afternoon, park their bikes safely, and enjoy a refreshment out in the garden. It is that moment in the evening light when the day’s stage has clearly found its destination – before the journey continues the next morning with a smile.

Step by step in the here and now

Sometimes people simply find their way to us on foot. Pilgrims on the Carinthian Way of St. James, or hikers coming from the Nockberge mountains, often describe this place as much more than just accommodation. It is a place to pause, take off your shoes, and breathe. Here, arriving does not feel like standing still, but simply like being allowed to be.

Freedom without a car

Even without your own car, it is easy to stay flexible in the region. Nockmobil, Carinthia’s on-demand shuttle system, fills the gaps where routes do not start right outside the door. Our stop, NM 640, is directly in front of the Landhaus – ideal for excursions, places to stop along the way, or return journeys that come up spontaneously. After a quick booking by app or phone, the onward journey starts easily from right outside the house.
